Well Beyond Email
The earlier releases of the BlackBerry handheld primarily targeted email solutions. However, as the demand for office mobility increased, so have the capabilities of the BlackBerry. EMS deploys diverse methods in order to deliver structured solutions, ranging from generic or carrier-branded scratch cards sold at storefronts or as pre-packaged device boxes, or through pre-loaded (“push”) applications to all BlackBerry users in the field.
Operators can opt to “push” a branded icon to all the BlackBerry devices and take the user to a carrier-branded site (hosted by EMS), complete with up-to-date information such as new offers and lists of GPRS roaming partners, and exclusive offers or on offer for sale via the microsite.
EMS can develop customized applications that offer customers exclusive, branded solutions, such as “push” mapping applications to GPS-enabled devices and imaging applications to devices with embedded cameras.
For the Enterprise — From the Home Business to the Multinational Corporation
The BlackBerry solution boasts many attributes, varying from PIM synchronization to centralized management. Its potential can be realized by deploying over-the-shelf, stand-alone solutions to increase the usage of the devices, or to extend server side applications, such as CRM solutions, SAP deployments and Field Service automation.
